Navigating the Transition from College to Independence

Wednesday, April 17, 2019
9:30 a.m.to 2:00 p.m.
The Ivy Room at Tree Studios

How and why is the transition experience from college to career so different today than in previous generations? Why is this often an anxious time period for both parents and adult children? How can everyone come together to make decisions about family financial assistance that promotes rather than inhibits independence across this life phase?

At this program, intended for grandparents, parents and young adults, we dove into these issues. We heard from an expert on how parents can provide meaningful emotional and financial support and factors young adults should weigh in making early career choices. A panel of parents and their adult children will also share their experiences and perspectives. Finally, Altair talked about the support we provide for client families at this transition stage.
