William C. Shannon

Bill Shannon is the Director of Strategic Growth at Altair, where he drives the firm’s growth strategy, process, and implementation. With over 25 years of experience in financial services, Bill excels at leading and coaching teams to deliver exceptional client experiences while achieving sustainable growth. His expertise includes investment management and advisory, practice management, financial planning, and banking for affluent individuals and families.

Before joining Altair, Bill held key senior leadership roles, including Market Head of HSBC Global Private Banking for the Central United States and Managing Director at BMO Private Bank. He has completed executive education programs at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and the University of Texas, holds an MBA with distinction from DePaul University, and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois. Bill is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst® and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® professional.

Bill is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the boards of the Barrington Area Community Foundation, where he chairs the Investment Committee, and WINGS Program, Inc., where he is the Board Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committees. Additionally, Bill volunteers at the Investments & Wealth Institute, contributing to the development of CIMA® exam questions and is a sought-after speaker at numerous wealth management industry events, where he shares his expertise on the topic of organic growth.
