Dave Carpenter

As the investment communications analyst, Dave is responsible for writing on a broad range of economic, financial and investment topics. Based out of the research department, he prepares Altair’s quarterly market reports, monthly updates, commentaries, white papers, thought leadership pieces and other content.

Before joining Altair in 2012, Dave was lead personal finance writer for The Associated Press for four years. He spent 33 years in journalism and previously was Chicago-based business writer, Moscow correspondent, East Europe news editor, New York-based international desk editor and San Francisco-based sportswriter for AP.

Dave graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science. He completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ training program at Northwestern University and earned a certificate in the Financial Decision Making program at the University of Chicago.

Dave and his wife have three sons and currently reside in the Chicago suburb of Grayslake.
