J. Gus Miller

As an Associate Director, Gus delivers a holistic wealth management experience to individuals, families, and foundations by providing investment, financial planning, tax, and estate advice. In addition to his client facing responsibilities, Gus is a member of Altair’s hiring committee, plays a key role in the intern selection process, and serves as a liaison between Client Service and the Client Operations team.

Gus interned at Altair in 2016 and then joined Altair full-time in 2017 after graduating from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance. Prior to joining Altair, Gus worked as a Wealth Management Extern with UBS Financial Services and as a Student Business Consultant to distressed companies in the Oxford, Mississippi business district.

Gus is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® certificant. In 2024, Gus was a recipient of the Family Wealth Alliance’s Young Professionals Award which honors professionals under 40 who are shaping the family wealth industry.

Outside of Altair, Gus serves on the board of Advice Beyond the Classroom, a Chicago-based nonprofit created to bridge the education gap from the classroom to the professional world by teaching the soft skills of business and financial literacy to high school and college students. Gus also volunteers as a pro bono financial planner through Advisers Give Back which is a 501(c)(3) that connects low-to-moderate income individuals to CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™.
