9:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m.
The University Club of Chicago
Living in a time of change and upheaval is both exciting and unnerving. It presents new opportunities but also raises fears of the unknown. This year’s forum focuses on three key areas influencing our future: politics, technology and the investment markets.
Array of Things: An Instrument for Measuring Cities
Leaders in the recently launched, Array of Things, Charlie Catlett (University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory) and Douglas Pancoast (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) discuss how the collection of real-time, location-specific data will change the way cities make decisions in the future. Chicago is the first in a nine-city pilot program for applying technology to anticipate and proactively inform urban planning challenges. Our speakers explain what the goals are and what the concept of “smart cities” means for our lives in the future.
What the Election Results Mean for the Economy
Todd Buchholz*, well-known author, economist and former White House senior economic adviser, shares his thoughts on the recent election’s implications for the economy and discuss his expectations on how the new political leadership will shape policy.
Market Update & Client Recommendations
Steve Weinstein*, Altair’s President and Chief Investment Officer, and Jason Laurie, Managing Director and Chair of Altair’s Investment Committee, provide a market update and address Altair’s most up-to-date client recommendations.
